Nai Harn is a pale-sand beach in a bay in southern Phuket, between Kata and Cape Phromthep. It is more secluded than Kata and Karon, quieter and with a more local atmosphere, and is often named among the island's most beautiful beaches. It is good for swimming in the dry season, but it is also known for currents and waves during the monsoon, and lifeguards are active there.
Highlights

The bay
A crescent bay framed by hills and greenery. The sand is fine.

The beach from the back
Restaurants and small stalls line the back of the beach. The atmosphere is calmer than in Patong.
The nearby cape
Cape Phromthep is a few kilometres away: many travellers combine a swim at Nai Harn with the sunset at the cape. The road also passes the Karon viewpoint.

Tips
- Respect the red flags. Lifeguards have reported rip currents and sudden waves at Nai Harn during the monsoon, and in August 2025 tourists who had ignored a red flag attacked lifeguards. Do not swim when the ban is posted, even if the sky is blue. To compare with other beaches, see Kata, Karon and the Kata and Karon guide. The information comes from travel guides and press articles, not an official beach website.
How to get there
Nai Harn is in the south of the island, south of Kata Noi, on the road to Cape Phromthep. Taxi or Grab from Kata, Rawai or Phuket Town; direct public transport is limited. See getting around Phuket.
