Ao Sane Beach in Phuket: snorkeling, access and tips (2026 guide)
Ao Sane is a small rocky cove in southern Phuket, next to Nai Harn, known for snorkeling among granite boulders. The beach is short (sources give 130 to 300 metres) and access is free. It is not a soft-sand beach: there are rocks on the shore and in the water, so water shoes help. Parking is limited and the last stretch is a steep concrete path of about 50 metres.

Snorkeling around the boulders
The rocks shelter fish and sea urchins. In the morning the water is clearest. A small dive shop on site may rent gear (sources differ): better to bring your own.
Sunset
The site faces south-west and works well for photos at the end of the day.

Tips
- The road is narrow and winding (about 600 m after the Nai Harn Resort entrance) and signs warn that badly parked vehicles can be towed. If you would rather not drive, park at Nai Harn and walk about 1 km. Bring water and snacks, as there is little to eat. For easier swimming, Nai Harn is next door; for more snorkeling, Yanui. For many more fish, Racha or Coral. Information from travel guides, not an official site.
How to get there
In southern Phuket, via the road past the Nai Harn Resort entrance, then about 600 m to a small car park; 20 to 30 minutes by car from Rawai or Kata (estimate). See getting around Phuket.
