Andamanda water park
Andamanda advertises 29 slides and 5 themed zones, with areas for toddlers and teens alike. Open daily from 10 am to 7 pm. Travellers mention paid lockers (about 200 THB according to one review) and a ban on bringing food and drink. Some slides need 3 to 5 people: a parent alone with one child will not do everything. An optional transfer exists from Kata, Patong and Laguna.
Carnival Magic
Carnival Magic combines a park, games and an evening float parade (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday according to resellers). It is the activity the GetYourGuide guide names for young children. Watch the cost: several reviews say rides are extra. Compare with Phuket FantaSea in FantaSea or Carnival Magic.
Zipline
The Erawan zipline advertises a 700 m line, the longest in Phuket according to the offer, with a minimum age of 4. Other courses exist (Hanuman World, Skyline): compare minimum age and weight before booking, as they differ from one course to another.
Elephants: a sanctuary without shows
Choose a sanctuary with no rides and no tricks: see our guide to the ethical elephant sanctuary and the Ton Sai waterfall page, near the sanctuary whose offer is linked above. Ask for the exact programme: you feed and observe, without riding.
Cooking class
A half-day Thai cooking class fills a rainy morning and suits children who like tasting. See also the comparison of schools.
Free or low-cost outings
- Beach: Kata and Karon are the easiest with young children. In the rainy season, respect the red flags (see the best time to visit).
- Aquarium: the Phuket aquarium, under cover.
- Trickeye Museum: the Trickeye Museum, for optical-illusion photos.
- Rain: see what to do in Phuket when it rains.
Boat trips with children
Trips to Phi Phi go by speedboat, sometimes rough in the monsoon. They are not suited to very young children or those prone to seasickness; read the age and cancellation conditions of the offer.
A 5-day plan with children
- Day 1: Kata beach, recover from jet lag.
- Day 2: Andamanda.
- Day 3: ethical elephants in the morning, rest in the afternoon.
- Day 4: boat trip if the sea is calm, or cooking class.
- Day 5: Carnival Magic in the evening (if it is an opening day).

FAQ
Which activity for a 3-year-old?
Andamanda (toddler zones) or Kata beach. The Erawan zipline requires a minimum age of 4.
Is Phuket suitable for families?

Do I need to book ahead?
In high season, yes, especially for evenings and sanctuaries. Many offers are cancellable: read the cancellation condition.
Are elephants mistreated in parks?
Avoid rides and shows; choose a sanctuary that says you feed and observe without riding.
What budget per day?
The "from" prices seen in October 2026 run from about $48 to $76 per person for the most common outings; see the budget for a trip to Phuket.
