Emerald Pool and Krabi hot springs: price, hours and getting there from Phuket
The Emerald Pool (Sa Morakot) is a natural turquoise pool in the Thung Tieo forest in Khlong Thom district, Krabi province, with a hot stream nearby. The most recent sources give 400 THB for a foreign adult and 200 THB for a child (30 THB for Thai nationals), paid at the gate, in cash according to one of them. Hours differ between 8:30 and 16:30 or 17:00; one guide says the Blue Pool opens at 10:00. Count about 3 hours by road from Phuket (estimate) and 2 to 3 hours on site. The site is often combined with the hot springs, the Blue Pool and Tiger Cave Temple in day trips from Krabi or Phuket. To compare destinations, see Phuket or Krabi and Krabi from Phuket.

Tips
- Arrive at opening: it is the best way to avoid the crowds from organised trips. Sources differ on hours and on cash-only payment: bring the 400 THB in cash. Bring a swimsuit, towel, shoes that stay on and mosquito repellent. Check on site which swimming areas are allowed. Avoid the rainy season for a clearer pool; see the best time to visit Phuket.
How to get there
Khlong Thom, Krabi province, about 50-60 km from Krabi Town (an hour by road) and about 3 hours from Phuket (estimate). Simplest: a minibus tour with transfer from Phuket or Krabi, or a rental car (car rental in Krabi). See also Tiger Cave Temple, often on the same programme.
