Chillva Market in Phuket: opening hours, street food and tips (2026 guide)

Updated on October 25, 2026

Chillva Market is Phuket's trendy night market: stalls set in shipping containers, live music and street food, in a more relaxed setting than the big tourist markets. The most quoted hours are Monday to Saturday, about 5pm to 11pm, closed on Sunday, but sources contradict each other (some say 5pm to 10pm, others only Wednesday or Thursday to Saturday). Entry is free; the clothing and flea-market stalls are mostly open Thursday to Saturday.

Highlights

The Chillva stage

The Chillva stage

The market is known for its container stalls and live music, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Street food and seafood

Skewers, stir-fries, desserts and grilled seafood: try what is cooked in front of you. Prices are displayed or should be asked before ordering.

Fashion and flea stalls

Clothes, jewellery and second-hand items, mostly Thursday to Saturday. Polite haggling is normal.

Practical info

Tips

  • Arrive around 5.30pm to eat before the crowd and find space in front of the stage. Many sources place the market on Yaowarat Road, about 10 minutes north of the old town; one guide also mentions Thalang Road, probably a mix-up with the Sunday market. Check the address on a map. On Sunday go to the Lard Yai market instead; at weekends, the Naka market. To compare all the markets: Phuket night markets. Hours and days to confirm; data from travel sites, not the market itself.

How to get there

Yaowarat Road, Talat Yai, about 10 minutes by car or scooter north of Phuket old town (according to most sources). Taxi or Grab; return the same way. See getting around Phuket.

Opening hours

Best: From 5.30pm, Thu-Sat
Monday to Saturday, about 5pm to 11pm (most quoted; others give 10pm or fewer days); closed Sunday; free entry
