Chalong Pier in Phuket: boat departures, how to get there and tips
Chalong Pier is the main pier in south-east Phuket for speedboat trips, dive boats and private yachts. According to guides, the usual routes go to Coral Island, Racha Island, Koh Bon and Maiton. For Phi Phi, Krabi and Koh Lanta, most sources instead name Rassada Pier: one directory mentions a Phi Phi speedboat from Chalong, another says the pier does not offer it, so confirm with your operator. Access to the pier is free; the meeting point and departure time are on your booking voucher. The bay is shallow: larger speedboats often anchor offshore and passengers are taken aboard by longtail or tender, especially at low tide.

Tips
- Keep your booking voucher and check the pier name: trips to Phi Phi, Krabi and Koh Lanta most often leave from Rassada, not Chalong. Sources disagree on parking (free for some, paid for others): bring small change or take the transfer included with the trip. Bring sunscreen, a waterproof bag and sandals that are easy to remove: boarding by longtail wets your feet. For speedboat safety, see speedboat or big boat.
How to get there
Chalong Pier is at Ao Chalong in south-east Phuket, about 8 km from Phuket Town and 40 to 50 minutes from Patong depending on traffic. Simplest: a transfer included in the trip, a taxi or a Grab. To stay near the boats, see where to stay in Cape Panwa and Chalong.
