Coral Island, Koh Hae in Thai (Koh Hey on most booking sites), is a small island about twenty minutes by boat from Chalong pier, southeast of Phuket. It is the easiest sea excursion to fit into a stay: half a day is enough for a white-sand beach, clear water and a little snorkelling, without the long crossings to the Phi Phi or Similan Islands. The prices below are ranges found with operators in October 2026, to be confirmed when you book.
Highlights

The white-sand beach
The main beach faces Phuket, with very clear water and boats moored in front. People come mainly to swim and relax on the beach, with sun loungers and small restaurants.

The boats and turquoise water
The bay sees a stream of speedboats and dive boats: the island is very busy at peak hours. Some trips include a snorkelling stop on a nearby reef, mask and snorkel provided.

Tips
- A half-day speedboat offer including the hotel round-trip transfer was listed at about 45 USD per adult in October 2026. Transfer surcharges apply depending on the beach: for example 200 THB per person from Kamala, Surin, Bang Tao or Layan and a flat fee per booking from the north of the island (Mai Khao, Nai Yang), according to one operator. If you stay near Chalong, Rawai or Kata you avoid these fees. Extras (banana boat, parasailing, sea walking) are paid on top. Bring a towel, hat, sunscreen and a little cash. The beach is very lively in the afternoon: go in the morning if you can.
How to get there
By boat from Chalong pier (about 20 minutes by speedboat according to operators). Hotel pick-up is generally included in packages; otherwise allow for a taxi or Grab ride to Chalong.
