The tickets at a glance

"From" prices change with the date and the seller. Box-office prices come from the Patong Boxing Stadium's website and should be confirmed.

Two stadiums not to mix up

Patong has two venues that travellers often confuse: the Patong Boxing Stadium (Sai Nam Yen Road) and the Bangla Boxing Stadium (Soi Banzaan, behind Jungceylon, near Bangla Road). Each sells its own tickets. Before paying, look at the stadium name and the meeting point on the confirmation. For the second one, see the Muay Thai in Phuket page.

Stands or ringside

Stands. About 1,500 THB at the Patong Boxing Stadium box office. A decent view of the ring and a good atmosphere.

Ringside (VIP). About 1,800 THB at the box office, the seat closest to the fighters. This is what you buy to watch the blows, the sweat and the trainers in the corners. According to the stadium's website, a stadium T-shirt comes with every ticket.

With transfer. Some listings add the ride from your hotel: handy if you stay far from Patong, see getting around Phuket. Read what is included before comparing two prices.

Times and days

The main listing states fights from 9 pm to 11 pm; another mentions an evening running until about midnight. Doors open around 7:30 or 8 pm depending on the source, and the first fight is around 9 pm. Fight days vary by stadium (one source cites Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday for the Bangla): confirm the date before buying. The ticket is valid only for the date chosen and re-entry is not allowed.

How an evening goes

An evening strings together several fights, with young Thai boxers and sometimes foreigners, set to the traditional orchestra and the wai khru ritual before each bout. It is loud and some fights are violent: not a show for young children.

Completing the evening

After the fight, Bangla Road is close by, see the Patong guide and the Patong district. To step into the ring yourself, the Muay Thai camp in Phuket. Keep an eye on prices and pushy sellers: scams and safety in Phuket.
