Central Phuket: mall, food court and luxury shops in Phuket Town
Central Phuket (formerly Central Festival and Central Floresta) is the island's big shopping complex, on Vichitsongkram Road at the edge of Phuket Town. It combines a shopping arcade, a department store, a supermarket, restaurants, a food court and a cinema. It is the air-conditioned address for a rainy day, and the place to find whatever is missing from your suitcase: sunscreen, clothes, electronics, SIM cards. A major expansion was announced in March 2026 (luxury zone doubled by the end of 2026, full completion planned for 2028), so some areas may be under construction or change tenants.
Highlights

The mall's facade
The complex is easy to spot on Vichitsongkram Road. For a first walk-through, allow one to two hours.
The department store and shops
International and Thai brands with fixed, displayed prices. Ideal for practical purchases, with no haggling.
The food court and restaurants
Cheap Thai dishes in the food court, chains and pricier restaurants upstairs. A good air-conditioned break between visits.
The supermarket
Water, snacks, toiletries and fruit: handy for stocking up before a boat trip.

Tips
- The mall is about 5 km north-west of the old town: a taxi or Grab is simplest, and the return works the same way. For atmosphere and souvenirs, prefer the Lard Yai Sunday market. The mall is a refuge for what to do in Phuket when it rains. Hours from the mall's official website, October 2026: confirm them before you come, especially on public holidays.
How to get there
Central Phuket, 199 Vichitsongkram Road, Wichit, Mueang Phuket. From Phuket Town, a taxi or Grab takes a few minutes; from the west-coast beaches, allow 30 minutes to 1 hour by car depending on traffic.
