The entry fee: where it stands

The articles read describe a plan for 300 baht for air arrivals and 150 for land or sea, aimed at foreign visitors, approved in principle in 2023 and then postponed. A Nation Thailand article of 3 April 2026 speaks of a revival, with no date, and another report mentions a possibly higher amount. We therefore cannot say whether it is collected on your date: check with your airline and Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports before you go.

Costs that surprise

A cost guide mentions about 224 baht per ATM withdrawal with a foreign card, and national park fees of around 408 baht for Phi Phi and 510 for Similan; another cites 400 to 500 baht in cash on the day. Advertised tour prices often exclude 7% VAT and these fees. Read what each excursion includes and see money and tipping in Phuket; keep some cash in baht.

Deposits and extras to avoid

Several sources report jet-ski renters demanding payment for alleged damage, sometimes very high. Never leave your passport as a deposit, film the vehicle's condition before you set off and prefer well-rated renters. See scams and safety in Phuket, jet skis and water sports and renting a scooter.
